blue horizon Invests in Food Documentary “Eating Our Way to Extinction”

In July 2017, Blue Horizon invested in the food documentary Eating Our Way to Extinction. This documentary will help educate consumers about the true consequences of our food choices and the advantages of a plant-based diet.

Eating Our Way to Extinction lays out the argument for a plant-based lifestyle, taking a look at the big picture and accounting for the complex problems that we face. The documentary will also inform viewers about adopting a plant-based diet and the resulting benefits for the planet, the health, and the animals.

While other documentaries cover various aspects of the movement for a plant-based lifestyle, filmmakers and brothers Ludo and Otto Brockway present an all-encompassing account of the movement. They’ve not only interviewed celebrities and scientists, but also ordinary people who have adopted a plant-based lifestyle. But it’s not just experiential evidence being presented: the Brockways also reveal the economic inefficiencies of the meat industry and present groundbreaking research into the intelligence of animals and the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle.

The film was produced and directed by brothers Otto Brockway and Ludo Brockway. They co-founded Broxstar Productions, a London-based production company that develops and produces commercial creative content for clients around the world.

Otto Brockway, writer and director of the film, says: “Our beautiful planet has passed some major tipping points and we’re rapidly heading towards a world that may soon become inhospitable for human life. The research now shows that the main driver of environmental destruction and biodiversity loss is our insatiable demand for meat and dairy. Sadly, this is not being talked about enough, so we are excited to have partnered up with blue horizon to produce an epic cinematic feature documentary which will bring this subject to a global audience in a powerfully inspiring and moving way.”

Roger Lienhard, founder and CEO of blue horizon, adds: “It’s essential to provide consumers with plant-based choices. But we also need to spread the word about the benefits of a plant-based diet and what is at stake for us and the planet. That’s why we’ve invested in Eating Our Way to Extinction. With this documentary we hope that people will be more informed and perhaps even persuaded by the facts and arguments laid out for a plant-based future.”
